Legislators, activists booked


KHAIRPUR, Aug 28: A case was registered against 27 people, including an MNA and MPA of the People’s Party Parliamentarians and a candidate of the Awam Dost panel, for firing and others offences on the election day.

A man, Qurban Channo, lodged an FIR with the Sobhodero police under section 324, 148, 149, 114 on Saturday.

Those nominated in the FIR include MNA Fazal Ali Shah, MPA Naeem Kharal, Raheel Kharal, ADP candidate from UC Saghiyoon, Altaf Mashori and his father Qadirdad Mashori, Ghulam Ali Luk, Ulfat Qureshi, Liaquat Qureshi, Sohrab Channa and 18 others.

He stated that MPA Naeem Kharal opened fire with repeater in Amun-Ji-Chhahee, Sobhodero taluka, injuring Zulfiqar Mangi, Salamat and Munawar Ali.

It has been stated in the FIR that the legislator also snatched Rs1,500.

Meanwhile, speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, former District Nazim Nafisa Shah, MNA Fazal Ali Shah, MPA Naeem Kharal and PPP district president Sajid Bhanbhan said PPP legislators were being victimized and one can imagine what would be attitude of police with the PPP candidates and supporters.—BoC
