Constable shot dead
RAWALPINDI, Aug 28: Five persons died in separate incidents in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Sunday, police said. In the first incident, a person shot dead constable Sanaullah, brother of a newly elected councillor, in Sadiqabad and escaped.
District Police Officer (DPO) Saud Aziz said Sanaullah along with his brother went to a car repair workshop in Sadiqabad to get his vehicle painted. While they were talking with the painter, Sadaqat, he pulled out his pistol and shot at constable Sanaullah, killing him on the spot. The accused managed to escape.
Shabbir Ahmed, a class III student, was drowned while bathing in a nullah in Shahzad Town.
A minor girl, Iram Javaid, along with her uncle was crossing the road in Shahzad Town when a speeding car knocked her down and sped away. The girl was removed to the hospital but she died before reaching the hospital.
Meanwhile two students, residents of Harely Street, were drowned in Khanpur Dam on Sunday. The bodies of Zain-ul-Abideen, 21, and his friend, who is yet to be identified, were fished out of water by the divers and handed over to their families.
