Sherpao’s role praised

PESHAWAR, Aug 27: The local government system is one of the most effective vehicles for strong democracy since it facilitates leadership at the grassroots level, said Nasreen Khattak, MPA.

“It goes to the credit of the government since it has not only restored the reserved seats for women but also made a credible increase in their quota,” she said.

She said the PPP-S spearheaded the campaign for enhancing the status of women and to ensure their role in decision-making.

She praised Aftab Sherpao’s leadership, saying he had struggled for the restoration of female reserved seats. She said that the victory of Taraqi Pasand group showed that the people reposed confidence in the moderate policies of the party.—APP
