GUJRANWALA, Aug 26: A single-judge bench of the Lahore High Court has disqualified PML’s provincial lawmaker Mian Mazahar Javed for possessing a fake certificate.
Mian Javed had contested last general elections from PP-97 (Gujranwala) and produced a certificate issued by an American institute. Defeated candidate Nasir Cheema, brother of former MPA Azam Cheema, challenged his certificate through a writ petition, which came up for hearing before the Lahore High Court. Mian Javed says he would file an appeal against the court decision.
