Tanveer justifies rankings

ISLAMABAD, Aug 26: Top seed Tanveer Ashiq defeated third seeded Yasir Khan on Friday to annex the boys’ singles under-17 crown in the Freedom Cup tennis championship that concluded at the PTF Complex.

In a well-fought match, Tanveer carved out a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 victory to land the trophy which was presented to him by president of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Syed Dilawar Abbas.

Yousuf Ajam had earlier bagged the under-13 title by beating Farhan Shahid in the final which was played on Thursday.
