KARACHI: PFF, SQM to launch drive

KARACHI, Aug 26: The Siraikistan Qaumi Movement (SQM) and Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) have decided to launch a joint anti-Kalabagh Dam struggle called ‘Save Sindh’, said a press release issued here on Friday.

SQM chief Hameed Asghar Shaheen on Friday visited the central office of the PFF and held a meeting with its chairman Mohammed Ali Shah. Both the leaders were unanimous in their point of view that the construction of Kalabagh or any other dam would be harmful for the interests of people living downstream the Kotri Barrage and Indus Delta.

The central office of the ‘Save Sindh’ struggle would be established in Ibrahim Haidery, Karachi, whereas its regional office would be held at Dera Ghazi Khan.—PPI
