KARACHI, Aug 26: A bullet-riddled body of a young man was recovered from the Site Town Friday morning, police said. The body was found from a narrow lane in Pathan Colony from the Pirabad police jurisdiction.

Police said the victim had suffered multiple bullet wounds in the head. Clad in shalwar kameez, the victim was identified as Shamul Haq, 30, from some documents recovered from his possession, police said.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police are investigating the case.

SUICIDE: A young woman committed suicide in North Karachi on Friday.

Police said the body of Parveen was found hanging in her house in New Rasheedabad, a shanty town in Khawaja Ajmair Nagri.

The victim’s husband, Muhammad Rafiq, was at work in a hosiery factory in Khamosh Colony at the time of the incident.

Police said the victim’s seven-month girl was crying, which caught the attention of the landlord, who came down and saw the body hanging. The victim had used her dupatta for hanging.

They informed the police, who shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police were not sure about the circumstance, which had driven the woman to end her life.

ACCIDENT: A truck cleaner died in an early morning road accident on Super Highway. Police said a truck and trailer, both belonging to the NLC, rammed into each other resulting in the death of Azeemullah, 32 and injuring the driver.

Police believed the accident occurred due to the early light rain, which had made the highway slippery.

INJURED: A young girl was injured when a stray bullet hit her in Preedy area Friday morning.

Police said Saman, 16, daughter of Boota Mashi, was waiting at a bus stop to attend school when a bullet apparently came from an unknown direction and hit her. She was rushed to the Civil Hospital where she was stated to be out of danger.

Police said the family did not lodge an FIR.
