KARACHI: Water samples sent for analysis

KARACHI, Aug 25: The officials of the Sindh Environment and Alternate Energy department have completed the first phase of sample collection from the city under its scheme “Drinking Water Quality Assessment in Karachi, Hyderabad and Kotri.”

Samples were collected from various units, offices, schools, pumping stations and other spots in eight UCs of Baldia Town. These are being analyzed in the laboratory of the Sindh Environment Protection Agency.

The collection process was monitored by the Adviser to Chief Minister on Environment and Alternate Energy, Muhammad Noman Saigol, himself.

He said that the present government strongly believed in practical and timely work in bringing visible changes in every sector including environment.

He said four development schemes in various sub-sectors of environment were being executed by his ministry.

He directed the officers and staff of his department to continue efforts with more devotion and commitment for conservation and upgradation of environment.—APP
