SCCI polls

PEHAWAR, Aug 25: The Businessmen Forum has secured all three seats of the Executive Committee (Full Group) of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) as the rival group — Businessmen Panel — boycotted the polls.

According to results announced by the election committee after the counting of ballots, Malik Sajjad Awan, Mohammad Sadiq and Mohammad Arshad Siddiqui of the Businessmen Forum, headed by Senator Ilyas Bilour, were declared elected to the Executive Committee of the SCCI. They got 514, 512 and 497 votes, respectively.

Out of total 820 voters, 543 cast their votes held at the SCCI building here on Thursday.

Polling for four seats of the Associate Group will be held on Saturday and candidates of the ruling group, Inayat Khan, Mohammad Nadeem, Haji Israr Saraf and Mian Mohammad Akhtar, are set to be elected, as the rival group had already announced boycott of the polls.
