Pakistan, Guinea discuss cooperation

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 24: Foreign ministers Khurshid Kasuri and Madame Sidibe Fatoumata Kaba of Guinea discussed ways of strengthening cooperation between their countries in economic and other fields and on international issues after the Guinean minister arrived for a three-day visit on Wednesday.

A foreign ministry statement said the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between their foreign ministries to institutionalize bilateral cooperation.

It said while technical cooperation between the two sides was proceeding smoothly through provision of training to Guinean officials in the fields of banking, diplomacy and defence, the Pakistani side expressed its readiness to expand it by offering English classes to Guinean students. Pakistan also offered to help Guinea in overcoming rice shortage by supplying the required quantity of rice at competitive prices.
