SAFF delegates seem satisfied

KARACHI, Aug 23: A delegation of South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) on Tuesday visited the Peoples Stadium at Mauripur Road to inspect facilities. The delegation including Operation Manager, World Sports Group (WSG) (Britain), Tom Wheeler and Operation Executive Muhammad Javed (Singapore) visited the stadium with Sindh Minister of Sports Qamar Mansoor and Director Technical Pakistan Football Federation (PHF) Col (Retd) Mujahidullah Tareen and chairman SAF Abbas Baloch.

However, an important member of delegation and secretary SAFF Sirjaul Islam Bachu was yet to arrive in Karachi to give his verdict on holding the event in Karachi. The delegates expressed their satisfaction over the progress and face lifting work at the stadium.

Sindh Sports Minister Qamar Mansoor told reporters that 90 percent work at the stadium had been completed on the recommendations by the previous SAFF delegation.

Qamar said Sindh Government was giving due priority for the promotion and development of sports and concrete steps were being taken for the purpose.

Minister said that SAFF delegation members had expressed their complete satisfaction over the improvement in facilities at the stadium.—APP
