HRCP voices concern over law, order

QUETTA, Aug 23: The Balochistan chapter of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has expressed concern over the law and order situation, especially incidents of kidnapping of women.

A statement issued here on Monday said that HRCP central council member Suriya Amiruddin presided over the monthly meeting of the commission. Former HRCP chairman Tahir Mohammad Khan, provincial chairperson Malik Zahoor Shahwani and other members attended the meeting.

The meeting observed that during the last two months several women were kidnapped in Quetta and many children were criminally assaulted, and it was regrettable to note that criminals were roaming free.

The statement said that kidnapping for ransom has increased in Gwadar, Turbat and Panjgur whereas burglaries were on the rise.—Correspondent
