Nishan-i-Imtiaz conferred on Saudi naval chief

ISLAMABAD, Aug 23: President Gen Pervez Musharraf conferred the award of Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on Royal Saudi Naval Forces Commander Vice Admiral Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammad Al-Saud at a special investiture ceremony on Tuesday.

According to a press release, the president conferred the award in recognition of Prince Fahd’s professional achievements and endeavours for strengthening friendship and cooperation between Royal Saudi Naval Forces and Pakistan Navy.

Vice Admiral Prince Fahd thanked the Pakistan government for conferring on him a prestigious military award and expressed his resolve to further strengthen the excellent relations between the naval forces of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Saudi naval forces commander also visited the Naval Headquarters where he was received by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Shahid Karimullah. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy presented him the guard of honour. He took the salute and reviewed the honour guard.

Admiral Shahid Karimullah then introduced the visiting dignitary to the principal staff officers at the Naval Headquarters.
