KARACHI, Aug 23: Nine ships carrying steel coils, chemicals and general cargo are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. After having berthed a dozen vessels a day earlier, berthing activity at the wharves was slow as only two ships, Corin Thaikos and Hanjin Busan to unload and load containers were berthed.

Three ships, Maersk Alaska, Chong Chon Gang departed on Tuesday, while Ever Guide is expected to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves also slow where a total tonnage of 45,412 tons comprising 5,978 tons of export cargo and 39,434 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Shalamar, with crude oil, Al-Marwah, with chemicals, Iran Sattari, Global Princess, Ponl Buenos Aries, Hyundai Advance and Kota Wajar, with containers, Ince Pacific, with 5,500 tons of steel coils and Pacific Express, with general cargo.
