KARACHI, Aug 22: The Karachi chapter of Jamaat-i-Islami is holding an All-Parties Conference (APC) on August 24 at the JI office, Idara Noor-i-Haq, to consider adopting a joint strategy against the alleged interference by the government and use of state machinery in the local bodies elections.

The conference is to be presided over by the party’s Naib Amir and a central leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Prof Ghafoor Ahmed.

The APC is stated to be attended by leaders of all major opposition parties and alliances, including the PPP, PML-N, JUP, JUI, PDP, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf, Islami Tehrik-i-Pakistan, Jamiat Ahl-i-Hadis, Punjabi Pukhtoon Ittehad and Muslim Rabita Council.—PPI
