KARACHI, Aug 22: Engineers of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board have been asked to identify the water deficient areas in the city so that adequate supply from the K-III project, scheduled to become operational next year, be ensured to such areas.

Speaking at a meeting of the engineers, KWSB MD Brig Iftikhar Haider asked them to visit the water deficient areas to asses their requirement and chalk out proper planning in this regard.

He also asked them to review of valve system and inspect water lines to check wastage owing to leakages, and submit a report to him in case there was a need for repair or capacity expansion. He constituted a committee, headed by Chief Engineer (Development and Coordination) Khalid Malik, and directed it to submit the report at the earliest.—APP
