AMSTERDAM, Aug 21: A Mudassir Ali Khan second half match-winner helped Pakistan lift Rabo Trophy hockey title after a 4-3 victory over Australia on Sunday.

The Australians got off to a flying start with a ninth-minute Brooks goal which was cancelled out by Pakistani penalty corner striker Imran Warsi in the 17th minute.

Schubert pulled the second for the Aussies in the 24th minute before Adnan Zakir put the game on an even keel with a 32nd-minute strike. Australia were again ahead a minute before halftime with a Bishop effort.

Pakistani nimble-footed striker Rehan Butt was on target to restore parity in the 42nd minute. But it was Mudassir who slotted home in the 50th minute.

Spain outplayed South Korea 2-1 in the third place playoff, the Netherlands thrashed Germany 5-0 to settle at fifth place, while India got consolation with a 2-1 win over England in the seventh place classification match.—AFP
