Afghans hand over bodies of four Pakistanis
PESHAWAR, Aug 21: Bodies of four Pakistani drivers, who were killed on Aug 15 in a suspected Taliban attack in Kandahar, were brought home on Sunday, officials said.
The Afghan authorities handed over the decomposed bodies to their relatives at Torkham border checkpoint.
“The bodies were beyond recognition,” said an official who received the bodies at the border point.
They were identified as Wardak Khan, son of Gulab Noor; Khan Ayaz, son of Ayan Gul; Arbab Khan, son of Hameed Khan; and Azmat Khan, son Sher Rehman, and belonged to the Khyber Agency.
Officials said that suspected Taliban attacked a convoy of oil tankers near Kandahar in which 15 people, including some Pakistanis, were killed and nine tankers were destroyed.
