PESHAWAR, Aug 20: Nazim-elect Asif Khan and Naib Nazim-elect Niamat Khan of the Union Council 31 have reposed confidence in the leadership of NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA).

Speaking to them, the chief minister said the welfare of the people and provision of basic facilities at local level was a collective responsibility. They called on Mr Durrani on Saturday at the Frontier House.

“The MMA government will help all the elected representatives in the speedy development of the province,” Mr Durrani told them.

He said the provincial government had been cooperating with district governments, and the process would continue.

“The provincial government has released millions of rupees’ funds for the renovation of roads in Peshawar district,” he added.—Online
