MIRPURKHAS, Aug 20: Candidates of the government-backed Khushhal Pakistan Panel have swept polls in Umerkot, Kashmore and Jacobabad districts. In Umerkot district, the KPP won 22, of 27 seats of UC nazim and naib nazim.

The ADP candidates won two seats of UC nazim and naib nazims whereas candidates of the Jam Dost Ittehad won three seats of nazim and naib nazim.

JACOBABAD: The Khushhal Pakistan Panel has an edge in the election of the district.

There are 39 union councils in the district.

In three talukas of the district — Jacobabad, Thul and Garhi Khero –- the ADP failed to capture majority of seats.

Despite tough opposition of the government machinery, ADP succeeded on six seats unopposed in Jacobabad.

In Thul taluka, the KPP succeeded to get elected eight of its candidates unopposed and according to unofficial results in the Thul taluka alone the KPP captured 18 seats and one seat went to the Insan Dost Panel.

In Garhi Khero taluka, there were six seats of which three people were elected unopposed.

Three were elected candidates from the ADP.

In Jacobabad taluka, the ADP captured eight seats with adjustment of other parties including Taraqi Pasand, Shaheed Dost and other political parties.

The KPP secured four seats and one each by the PML-N (Watan Dost), Sindh minister Manzoor Panhwar and an independent Sardar Muqeem Khoso group.

KASHMORE: There is neck-to-neck fight between Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani of the PPP and Saleem Jan Mazari of the PML in the district.

There are only 37 union councils in the district which include Kandhkot, Kashmore and Tangwani talukas.

According to unofficial results announced by the local election returning officers, 19 seats were captured by the Awam Dost Panel and 18 seats went to Saleem Jan Mazari of the KPP.
