KARACHI, Aug 18: The police on Thursday morning arrested four bandits after a shootout with them in North Nazimabad. The shootout was initially assumed as an incident of firing on a polling camp near Saifee College, creating panic in the area.

Police said four armed suspects were depriving passengers of valuables in a minibus route (F-21). The minibus passed through a police flag march. Seeing the police party, a passenger from the minibus shouted for help. The SHO of North Nazimabad and his police party turned back and chased the minibus. Near Saifee Polytechnic, the suspects got off the minibus and started running towards the polling camp.

The police and the suspects exchanged firing; but no one was injured in the firing. The police finally arrested the suspects and recovered two TT pistols and Rs1500 from their possession.

They were identified as Rahim Saeed, Dawood Khan, Shah Husain and Hayatullah. SHO North Nazimabad said that the complainant, Aslam Mashi, stated that the suspects had taken his purse containing Rs1,500 and his cellphone.
