POA meets on Saturday

LAHORE, Aug 17: The executive committee of the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) will meet here on Saturday to finalize the contingents for the next Asian Games and Commonwealth Games while reviewing the performance of Pakistan in the first Islamic Games held in Saudi Arabia in April this year.

The committee is also likely to give affiliation to the Pakistan Baseball and Softball Federation (PBSF). The constitution committee of the POA, it was learnt, had cleared the case for the affiliation.

Pakistan ranked fifth among 33 countries playing baseball in Asia. Pakistan will also host the seventh Asia Cup qualifying round in April next year.
