KARACHI, Aug 17: Veterans Muhammad Yousuf and Sarwar Siddiqui have won both of their opening matches in the World seniors snooker championship in Manama, Bahrain, says a message on Wednesday.
Yousuf handed out a 3-0 (49-18, 53-44, 80-16) drubbing to Guloom Abbas of Bahrain in his first match.
In his second match he carved out a splendid break of 85 in the second frame in a 69-16, 90-0, 68-43 victory against Latvian Sergej Sergejev.
Sarwar recovered after dropping the opening frame while chalking out a 3-1 win against Gilbert Engelbos of Belgium.
Sarwar lost the first frame 36-67 but raced to victory grabbing next three frames at a trot 53-17, 73-41, 61-32.
In his second match, Sarwar edged past Wael Talaat of Egypt 51-42, 61-30, 51-35, which included a break of 32.—APP
