KARACHI: Poisonous gas leakage claims worker’s life

KARACHI, Aug 17: A factory worker died on Wednesday owing to ammonia gas leakage in an ice factory in Al Falah area of the Malir. Behram, 50, died in the incident which occurred at 5:30am at the Yusuf Ice Factory in Juma Goth, Edhi sources said.

The body had been shifted to Jinnah Hospital for autopsy.

The MLO at the Jinnah Hospital said that the man died owing to inhalation of some poisonous gas.

The leakage created panic in the nearby Rafi Garden locality, a thickly populated area, where people said they felt difficulty while breathing.

Sources said Behram tried to stop the leakage but failed and suffered the wrath of the deadly gas.
