Mehreen and Ali fastest


KARACHI, Aug 16: Ali Amir and Mehreen were crowned fastest boy and girl of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) organized athletics meet to celebrate the Independence Day, says a press release. Besides winning the 100m sprint, Ali also won the 400m to complete a fine double. Ahsan Ali also performed a double when he grabbed glory in the 1500m and 800m.

Kiran Allah Din and Samreen also did a double in the girls events.

Apart from finishing first in the long jump, Kiran also won the high jump. Samreen’s double was achieved in 400m and 800m events.

The PSB also hosted a table tennis tournament for men’s, women’s, boys’ and girls’ singles events at the NSTCC.

Kashif Hussain lifted the men’s crown beating Hassan Haider. The women’s title was claimed by Ayesha Jalil who overcame the challenge of Bushra Ahzaz.

The boys’ and girls’ singles events were captured by Asad Omar who outplayed Muhammad Usman while Maliha Khursheed defeated Abeera Ali Shaikh.

High Jump – Kiran Allah Din

Javelin Throw – Qudsia Kanwal

800m – Samreen

Shot Put – Nazia Ishaq

100m – Mehreen Khan

1500m – Ahsan Ali

High Jump – Akhtar Pervaiz

Javelin Throw – Abdul Rahman

Long Jump – Muzaffar Shah

800m Ahsan Ali

100m Ali Aamir
