Lahore capture trophy

PESHAWAR, Aug 16: Lahore clinched the St John’s Cathedral All-Pakistan basketball trophy defeating Sialkot 90-89 in a thrilling battle. Lahore, aided by international players Asher Azeem and Adeel Raza, led the first quarter 17-13.

Asher scored 21 points with four three pointers followed by Adeel Raza 18 with two three pointers. Akeel netted 18 points with four three pointers while Zahid scored 17 points with one three pointer.

Sailkot’s Nasir struck quick 23 points with five three pointers.

The see-saw last quarter resulted in Lahore emerging 90-89 winners.

Taxila made it to the third spot defeating St John’s 60-62 in another thrilling match.—APP
