AJK PM’s adviser made minister

MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 16: AJK Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat on Tuesday inducted his Information Adviser Noreen Arif into the cabinet and accorded the status of senior minister to Food Minister Raja Abdul Qayyum Khan.

According to a notification, Ms Arif has been inducted in the cabinet as minister for agriculture, animal husbandry, Armed Services Board and civil defence.

The portfolios were earlier held by Malick Mohammad Nawaz Khan, who has now been made the minister in charge of revenue and Mangla Dam affairs.

The revenue department was held by Senior M1inister Syed Mumtaz Ali Gillani who died on Aug 7.

According to another notification, the food department has been withdrawn from agriculture and animal husbandry secretary Aizaz Nasim and its additional charge given to Services and General Administration Secretary Fayyaz Akhtar Chaudhry.

Electricity Secretary Sardar Mohammad Altaf Khan has been given the additional charge of Hydro-Electric Board managing director.

Additional Secretary, Home, Dr Mahmoodul Hassan Raja, has been posted as additional secretary, finance. He will continue to hold the additional charge of information director.
