Nawaz for loyalists

Published August 17, 2005

LAHORE, Aug 16: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will bring dedicated party workers to the fore as replacement to the legislators who have left the PML-N to join hands with the ruling party.

Sources close to Mr Sharif said on Tuesday that “opportunists” were leaving the party as a result of which people from the middle class would get a chance to show their capabilities.

The sources said in the next general elections, the PML-N would award tickets to such workers whose loyalties were unquestionable.

They said the party would not be affected by some individuals’ decision to join hands with the rulers as now the PML-N would be in a better position to judge the loyalties and commitment of its members.

They said those with the party were not afraid of the National Accountability Bureau or any other state institution.
