KARACHI: Varsities closed on 18th

KARACHI, Aug 16: Public sector varsities in the city would remain closed on Aug 18, on the occasion of local body polls. A spokesman for the University of Karachi said that the varsity and its affiliated units would remain closed on Aug 18, while the examinations scheduled for the day would not be held. The postponed examinations would be held on Aug 20.

When contacted, registrars of the NED University of Engineering and Technology and the DUHS said that their respective institutions would remain closed on Aug 18.

However, IBA Director Danishmand told Dawn that they would observe holiday on Aug 18, only on the directives from the Governor’s House, which according to him, had not arrived till evening.
