KARACHI, Aug 16: The Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) has rejected the Capital City Police Officer’s statement, alleging members of the IJT of terrorism, and called it “politically motivated”.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the Nazim of IJT Karachi, Syed Tahir Akbar, charged the police for victimizing the IJT “on the behalf of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement”.

He accused the CCPO, Tariq Jamil, for taking part in the alleged action against the IJT.

The IJT leader claimed that the MQM sector in-charges were supervising the police parties, who had picked up the students, alleged of terrorism by the CCPO, from their homes.

He asked if the police officers had any proof against the arrested students, why were they not coming to the court of law to present the same.—PPI
