Saarc standing committee session put off

ISLAMABAD, Aug 13: Pakistan, as Saarc chair, has announced the postponement of the 31st session of the standing committee and 26th session of the programming committee, which was scheduled to be held here on August 16-18. According to a press release issued on Saturday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the postponement was made due to the assassination of Lakshman Kadirgamar, the foreign minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, on Friday.
