LAHORE, Aug 13: A majority of Pakistanis is liberal in their thinking and against all forms of extremism, says Justice Javid Iqbal (retired). Delivering a lecture on “Prospects of true Islamic revolution in Pakistan” at the Government College University on Saturday, he said people wanted that form of governance which provided them justice.
He said the Quaid-i-Azam won a separate homeland on the basis of democracy, human rights and rule of law.
“We did not try to understand the true meaning of secularism,” he added.
GCU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Aftab and Crescent Foundation chairman Syed Sardar Ali also spoke.—Staff Reporter
