LAHORE, Aug 12: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday clarified that father of the pace bowler Umer Gul was not dead and in fact the father of a local cricketer from Peshawar with the same name died.

“To clarify the earlier media release in which PCB chairman , Shaharyar M khan offered condolences to Umer Gul relating to the death of his father was a mistake as in fact it was a local cricketer who suffered the loss,” said a spokesman for the PCB on Friday.

“Any inconvenience caused to the family members of national cricketer is regretted,” the statement clarified.—APP
