KARACHI, Aug 10: An outstanding all-round performance by Amanullah who blasted 67 runs and grabbed four wickets was instrumental in NED University of Engineering and Technology’s beating Technical Institute of Pakistan by 122 runs in the PCB Inter-university tournament on Wednesday at KCCA Stadium.
Batting first, NED posted 225 in 44.5 overs due to Amanullah who fired ten boundaries in his innings and was well supported by Yawar Saeed who scored 59 runs. Besides Abdus Sami (26) and Shahwar Hussain (23) also weighed in with useful scores.
Fareed with the bowling figures of 5-33 was the most successful bowler for Technical Institute.
NED restricted their opponents to 103 runs in 27.2 overs to seal 122 runs victory. Amanullah conceded 17 runs while claiming four wickets.
At TMC ground, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University overwhelmed Iqra University by 120 runs due to some good batting by Farhan Saeed and Azfer Irfan who scored 66 and 57 runs. respectively.
In another match of the day, Hamdard University recorded beat Ziauddin Medical University by three wickets at Regional Academy Ground.
