PESHAWAR, Aug 10: Sidra Baig of Jinnah College for Women (JCW), Peshawar, has topped the Intermediate annual examination 2005 (Pre-Medical group) conducted by BISE Peshawar by securing 967 marks out of 1,100.

The second position was shared by Razaullah Mian and Muhammad Ali of Islamia College Peshawar and Jamila Bano of Jinnah College for Women with 963 marks while third position was bagged by Azeeta Israr of JCW with 958 marks, according to a gazette notification issued by the BISE here on Wednesday

In the Pre-Engineering group, all the three positions went to Islamia College Peshawar. Jibran Khan Durrani with 952 marks stood first, while Raheel Khan with 948 marks and Ziaur Rehman with 944 marks remained second and third respectively.

In General Science group, the students of Islamia College again excelled and grabbed the first three positions. Mohmmad Shafiq topped the group by obtaining 935 marks followed by Ijaz Ahmed with 918 marks and Inamullah with 914 marks.

Zahra Ali Shah with 930 marks topped the Arts group whereas Sania Safi with 881 marks and Samra Gul with 874 marks bagged second and third positions respectively.

In Theology group first and second positions were shared by Muhammad Aamir and Muhammad Javed with obtaining 780 marks.

In all, 25,086 candidates appeared in Part II annual examination, 12,573 were declared successful showing overall pass percentage of 50.12.

Out of 13,130 regular candidates, 8,746 were successful showing 66.61 pass percentage. While out of 11,956 private candidates, 3,827 managed to pass. The passing percentage was 32.01.

In Pre-Medical Group, 4,540 candidates appeared and 3,700 were declared successful with 81.50 per cent success ratio.

In Pre-Engineering group 3,107 students appeared and 2,367 cleared the exam with 76.18 pass percentage.

In General Science group the success ratio was 64.24 per cent as out of 1,734 candidates, 1,114 managed to pass.

In Theology group 49 candidates appeared and 28 were declared successful having 57.14 per cent success ratio.

It merits mentioning here that as many as 24,091 candidates appeared in Part I and 10,864 were declared successful showing pass percentage of 45.10.—APP
