NAWABSHAH, Aug 10: Over 200 polling stations of the district have been declared sensitive and 3,000 additional force will be deployed during the local body elections. DPO Ghulam Hyder Jamali told Dawn that 201 polling stations were declared sensitive and 82 stations including 24 in the Nawabshah taluka, 22 in Daur, 15 in Sakrand and 21 in Daulatpur talukas were declared most sensitive.

Likewise, 11 polling stations in Nawabshah, 22 in Daur, 10 in Sakrand and 16 in Daulatpur talukas were declared less sensitive.

He said that 3,000 additional force, 2,000 police from Karachi and Sukkur ranges and 1,000 Rangers personnel would be deployed during elections.

He said that the army would remain standby and that strict security arrangements had been made at all sensitive polling stations. He said police and Rangers were responsible to maintain law and order situation and nobody would be allowed to break the law.

He said implementation of code of conduct had been assured and fool proof arrangements had been made for polling day on August 25.—BoC
