KARACHI, Aug 10: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan on Wednesday ordered early completion of various projects so as to provide relief to the people. He issued these directives during his four-hour visit to the city.

The governor visited Jahangir Kothari Parade and inspected development work at Bagh Ibne Qasim on the beach.

CDGK Caretaker Fazalur Rahman briefed the governor on Bagh Ibne Qasim project and said that this important area of Clifton had been neglected in the past.

The governor was informed that this 47-acre park would be more beautiful than coastal parks of Jeddah and Singapore.

The governor was told that some 0.1 million palm oil trees would be planted at Bagh Ibne Qasim and at Jehangir Kothari Parade, besides other trees and shrubs.

Talking to reporters after laying the foundation of road construction and expansion projects in North Karachi, the governor said our efforts are to maintain cleanliness, construct and repair roads, undertake water supply and sewerage schemes and provide recreation facilities to the masses.

The projects inaugurated by the governor included Nagan Chowrangi to Surjani Town (5000 Road), Sakhi Hassan to Nagan Chowrangi (Shahrah-i-Usman Ramz) and Nagan Chowrani to Shafiq More (Shah Waliullah Road).

Dr Ibad visited Sharea Faisal and inspected the pace of cleanliness and uplift works.

He also inaugurated modern road-cleaning machines.—APP
