SA Academy team arrives

KARACHI, Aug 8: An 18-member South African Academy cricket squad arrived here on Monday on a three-week tour to Pakistan to play two four-day matches and three one-dayers against Pakistan Academy. The tourists, led by all-rounder Fracois du Plessis, will open their tour with a four-day fixture at the National Stadium from Thursday.

Ex-first class cricketer Dave Noseworthy is the coach of the team while Yashin Ebrahim Hassan is the manager. Squad: Francois du Plessis (captain), Brendon Adams, J.P. Duminy; Morne Morkel, Aaron Phangiso, Thandi Tshabalala, Ryan Canning, Frans Nkuna, Vemon Philander, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Jendre Coetzee, Ugasen Govender, Mario Olivier, Kyle Smit, Myles Williamson.

SCHEDULE:

Aug 11-14: First four-day match at National Stadium, Karachi.

Aug 18-21: Second four-day match at Qadhafi Stadium, Lahore.

Aug 24: First one-dayer at Sheikhupura.

Aug 26: Second one-dayer at Bagh-i-Jinnah, Lahore.

Aug 28: Third one-dayer at Qadhafi Stadium, Lahore.—APP
