Independence Day sports

KARACHI, Aug 6: To mark the 58th Independence Day of Pakistan, athletics and table tennis events will be held at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre from Aug 9 to 14, said a press release issued on Saturday. Table tennis event will be contested from Aug 9 to 13 and participants are advised to register their names by Monday for table tennis and by Aug 13 for track and field events.

Men and women open and boys and girls under-18 singles will be organised during the ping pong gala.

During the two athletics competitions, 100, 400, 800, 1500 meter races, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, discus throw and shot put events will be contested.
