Unique double by Salman


KARACHI, Aug 2: Skipper Salman Butt produced a magnificent all-round performance to help ABN-Amro Bank defeat Ufone by 85 runs in the fifth AKU Sports and Rehabilitation Centre cricket tournament here the other day. Salman hammered an unbeaten 109 with 10 fours and three sixes to guide his side to 238 for five before taking five for 21 as Ufone were dismissed for 153.

In another match Meezan Bank scored an easy 80-run victory over Engro.

ABN AMRO BANK 238-5 in 25 overs (Salman Butt 109 not out, Zulfiqar Lahri 40, Nasir Yaqoob 35; Qazi Qasim 2-32, Shahzad Khan 2-33); U-FONE 153 in 23.3 overs (Shahzad Khan 71, Qazi Qasim 38; Salman Butt 5-21, Ahmed Usmani 2-3).

Meezan Bank beat Engro by 80 runs.
