Unseeded Sara dumps Anoosha

ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: Unseeded Sara Mansoor upset seventh seed Anoosha Aslam on Tuesday to check into the quarterfinals of the National women’s ranking tennis tournament at the PTF Complex.

Sara, playing with great confidence, posted a well-deserved 6-2, 6-4 victory in the tournament being organised exclusively for women by the PTF for the first time.

Top seed Sara Mahboob had an easy match against Ariba whom she blanked 6-0, 6-0.

Others making the quarterfinals were Maira Rahim, Saba Aziz, Nabiha Haq, Natasha Afridi, Fatima Mansoor and Nida Rahim.

Nida proved too good for Nadeem Manzoor scoring a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Double quarterfinals: Sara Mahboob-Natasha Afridi bt Niha Arshad- Nadya Najib 6-0, 6-1, Saba Aziz-Anoosha Aslam bt Nabiha Haq- Nadeem Manzoor 6-1, 6-3, Sara Mansoor-Zainab Khan bt Hira Arshad- Ifra Arshad 6-0, 6-0, Maira Rahim-Nida Rahim bt Aysha Mansoor- Fatima Mansoor 6-0, 6-1.
