KARACHI, Aug 2: A meeting was held at the headquarters of the Pakistan Rangers – Sindh to discuss details of its protection/security plan for the local bodies’ elections 2005, said a press release of the Pakistan Rangers on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by the DG Rangers and was attended by all senior Rangers officers.

The agenda points included the priority of work, allocation of troops at polling stations and enhancement of the compliant cell with more telephone lines and manpower.

Use of motorcycle force, close circuit cameras and various other matters, to ensure secure and peaceful election, were also discussed.

In previous days, the DG Rangers had visited Hyderabad to review the security arrangements for peaceful conduct of elections.

He would be visiting interior Sindh in the coming days to see security arrangements made by the Rangers at the provincial level as well.—PPI
