Ghulam Abbas triumphs

LAHORE, July 31: Army’s Ghulam Abbas pedalled ahead to clinch 15 points and win the 50km Punjab Open cycle race after covering the distance in 1:19.14 seconds at the Model Town roundabout on Sunday.

Taj Mohammad of Wapda made it to the second spot with six points, while another Wapda player, Mubashar Ali finished third bagging five points.

Zafar Hussain, another Wapda man, came fourth with four points.

Hafiz Mustansar of Sui Southern Gas remained fifth with three points while Mohammad Salim was sixth with one point.

A total of 48 cyclists from Army, Wapda, Sui Gas, Punjab, Railways, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Attock, Kamoke and Kasur took part in the race.
