KARACHI, July 29: The executive board of the Defence Housing Authority has decided to ensure that the beach front continues to remain accessible to the common man, says a DHA press release.

At a meeting, which was chaired by the Commander V Corps , Lt-Gen Syed Athar Ali, who is also president of the DHA executive board, on Friday, it was decided that the beach front would be developed into a most modern recreational and entertainment spot, having state-of-the-art facilities for the visitors.

He also asked the Defence Housing Authority to devise a strategy for quick implementation of the beach development programme.

The executive board approved the extension in time period for the commencement of construction on open plots in DHA. It also rationalized the rates of division fee of plots.

The Defence Housing Authority executive board president reviewed the progress of the ongoing projects and development work in the Defence Housing Authority area.

He underlined the need for regular garbage collection, bush-cutting and general cleanliness.

He said action should be taken against officials who fail to implement his directives about cleanliness.

He said the results of his directives should become evident within two weeks.
