Crackdown on gas cylinder shops

Published July 29, 2005

GUJRANWALA, July 28: The district administration and TMA have jointly launched a crackdown on gas cylinder shopkeepers for allegedly selling defective cylinders without getting any no objection certificate (NOC) from the department concerned.

The decision was taken at a meeting held here on Thursday with district officer (revenue) Muhammad Akram Chaudhry in the chair while senior officials of the district administration and TMA were also present.

The meeting warned the shopkeepers against sale of substandard cylinders and asked them to adopt protective measures before filling gas, otherwise their licences would be cancelled.
