RAWALPINDI, July 27: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz met President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday and the two leaders exchanged views on the internal security environment with particular reference to the ongoing measures against extremist elements and publication of hate material in the country.

They also discussed the political environment in the country with reference to the forthcoming local government elections. The two leaders reiterated their commitment to facilitating the holding of the polls in a smooth, transparent and impartial manner. The president and prime minister were of the view that the visit to Kabul undertaken by Mr Aziz at the weekend would further enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan in various fields. —-APP
