Consolation wins for SGP, Police


RAWALPINDI, July 27: Sindh Government Press (SGP) and PPolice scored consolation wins in the National football Challenge Cup on Weddnesday.

SGP overwhelmed Higher Education Commissioon (HEC)at Army Stadium 6-0 while Police registered their first win overcoming Panthers Club 1-0 at Faisalabad Saddar’s Union 41/JB.

SGP hammered six past HEC in the second session after a scoreless first half. Nasir, Akhtar (2), Farhan, Faraz Ali and Muhammas Baksh were the scorers for the winners.

Police’s match-winner came in the 61st minute by Jabbar. Army, Wapda and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) have ready booked their berths in the last four. PTCL, NBP and KPT will fight out for the remaining spot.
