Low flood at Guddu
ISLAMABAD, July 27: A low flood situation was recorded at Guddu Barrage as water level was at 490,809 cusecs on Wednesday. According to an official of the Indus River System Authority, the water level at Guddu Barrage was not at dangerous level as its total capacity is 1,100,000 cusecs.
He said all rivers were flowing at normal level and there was no threat of any flood-like situation in any part of the country.
He said due to continuous decrease in temperature in Northern Areas and slow snow-melting process, there is no chance of flood in Indus and Kabul rivers.
Meanwhile, sources in the Federal Flood Commission said water inflow at Tarbela recorded on Wednesday was at 258,800 cusecs while the outflow was 230,700 cusecs.
The water level of the dam was 1,540 feet, which was 171 feet higher than the dead level of 1,369 feet.
The water inflow recorded at Mangla Dam was 57,471 cusecs while the outflow was 56,112 cusecs.
The total water level of the dam was 1,195.75 feet, which was 155 feet higher than the dead level of 1,040 feet.
The contribution of Kabul and Chenab was recorded at 86,800 and 87,604 cusecs, respectively.
Similarly, the water inflow recorded at Chashma was at 643.50 feet against the dead level of 637 feet. The water inflow was 365,102 cusecs while the outflow was 351,283 cusecs.
River Swat is in high flood at Monda showing rising tendency while River Indus is in medium flood at Taunsa and Sukkur. River Kabul is in medium flood at Nowshera.
According to Flood Forecasting Division, Indus is in low flood at Tarbela, Kalabagh, Chashma and Kotri. River Jhelum is in low flood at Mangla and Rasul while Chenab is in low flood at Marala. River Ravi is in low flood at Balloki. —APP
