ISLAMABAD, July 27: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Wednesday announced the result of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations part-I in which 20,657 candidates passed out of 33,360 who appeared.

Eighty students have failed in all six papers while 7,056 have passed five papers. The result of 14 candidates has been withheld. Six unfair-means cases have also been reported and a judicious procedure has been adopted to decide these cases.

The candidates failing in one or more papers can reappear along with papers of HSSC part-II in the annual examination 2006. Complete results and card sheets are available simultaneously on the website www.fbise.edu.pk.

Result cards of the candidates have been dispatched. Applications seeking re-checking of papers will be entertained within 30 days of declaration of the result, the board said in an official statement.

APP ADDS: As many as 5,000 students will be admitted to class XI this year in 38 colleges of Islamabad, the spokesman for Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) said on Wednesday.
