Turncoats have no future: PPP

Published July 27, 2005

FAISALABAD, July 26: Punjab PPP Secretary-General MPA Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan has said the present so-called democratic setup is about to collapse and there will be no room for turncoats in the future political set up.

Talking to the press here on Tuesday, the PPP leader said the present regime’s days were numbered.

Rana Aftab said the government had usurped rights of people as the prices of daily-use items had gone beyond their reach.

Suicides, terrorist activities, target killings, attacks on houses of innocent people by the armed forces and character assassination of opposition members had become a routine here, he added.

The PPP leader said the labour class had been forced to work for very nominal wages but the finance advisers were presenting very healthy reports.

He alleged that the government was going to stage a drama of local bodies elections in the country just to divert the attention of people from real issues.
